There are three main video series as listed below. For information about Alpha in different languages or Alpha for ESOL, please scroll below.

Alpha Film Series (AFS)

Alpha with Nicky Series (ANG)

Alpha for Youth (AYS)

  • Designed for young adults & adults

  • 15 videos, approx 30 minutes each

  • 11 weeks long (4 Alpha weekend videos)

  • Hosts: Toby Flint, Gemma Hunt, Nicky Gumbel

  • Stories from scientists, professors, athletes, musicians, world leaders

  • Discussion time is at the end of the video

  • Designed for seniors

  • 15 videos, approx 30 minutes each

  • 11 weeks long (4 Alpha weekend videos)

  • Host: Nicky Gumbel

  • Speaker-style format, Nicky's personal stories, live audience

  • Discussion time is at the end of the video

  • Designed for teens 13 to 18 years old

  • 13 videos, approx 30 minutes each

  • 9 weeks long (4 Alpha weekend videos)

  • Hosts: Jason Ballard, Ben Woodman, Nicky Gumbel + 3 co-hosts

  • Discussion time throughout the video (3 pauses, questions are on the video screen)

The Alpha Film Series with discussion, 2021 (AFS-D) features the same video content except the discussion questions are throughout the video (not at the end) with new questions on the screen.

The Alpha with Nicky Gumbel series was filmed in 2015 in front of a live audience. It is popular with seniors and multicultural audiences.

The Alpha Youth Series "Refresh" was launched in 2022. The video content is the same except for the streeter interviews. These were refreshed with "red couch" chats with students.
