Thanks for asking about Alpha for Prisons!

Did you know? In 2019, Alpha had been run in over 900 prisons or secure facilities in 46 countries!

Alpha for Prisons is the same content but just in a different context! Which means a few extra things:

1 - Pray, Pray, Pray for your local prison! And please check with the Prison Chaplain to see if Alpha is already running in the facility. Chaplains oversee the faith-based programs and help volunteers with the necessary application forms and scheduling.

2 - While the Alpha videos & training are the same in any context (church, prisons, etc), there is additional training that our National Office offers for running Alpha in a prison context such as What to Expect, Running Small Groups, Do’s and Don’ts etc. Please contact our Alpha for Prisons Director, Liza Kelder, at liza.kelder@alpha.org.au to arrange this training and discuss next steps.

3 - Keep in mind also that mandatory security training and necessary checks are required and organised by each prison prior to commencement.

For more information, please visit the Alpha for Prisons webpage.
